What was the best part about using Intercom?
Yes, Intercom’s customer intelligence platform is free, but the four applets (Acquire for live chat with visiting customers, Engage for marketing automation, Learn for customer feedback, and Support for customer support) that comprise its comprehensive customer intelligence program are not.
Fortunately, intercom does offer a free 14-day trial of the program. I was surprisingly impressed with intercom’s ability to pull up even the tiniest details about the mobile app usage by customers, customer behaviour, location, and contact details. And the data can be queried by location, individual customer, or customizable groups (ie.g., company client’s group, high-med-low users, or or grouped into any other mobile app usage or behaviour you deem fit to observe).
What would you change about your experience with Intercom?
Monthly Pricing options for intercom’s four components is offered both piecemeal (Option A: $49 per desired item) or semi-bulk (Option B: Buy Acquire for $49 and get all the rest for an additional $57).
Hmmm, let’s see...assuming that the sum value of all four products equals $196 per month, Option B which cost $106 should save me $90 per month. Sounds like a good deal, right?
WRONG! Option B’s price implies that, if judged equal in value and taken individually, each product should cost $26 per month. But obviously since Acquire will be needed by all buyers for its capability to chat with visitors (prospective customers), intercom keeps Acquire’s price at $49, while the others a devalued to $19.
It’s an age-old shell game that basically railroads customers into Option B buying. For example, a two item purchase would cost $98 (just $7 shy of getting all of them for $106), while a three item purchase of $147 is an obvious losing venture. Which begs the question: What the Hell is each product’s real value?.. $49 each, $26 each, or with the exception of Acquire, $19 each? (Feverishly scratching my head in confusion now!)
Overall Feedback
Intercom is a full featured customer intelligence solution on their powerful and free customer intelligence platform. With regards to the granularity and scope of details you desire, intercom’s advanced, feature rich, and precision software is way ahead of the crowd; making previous customer intelligence software of just one year ago appear clumsy and obsolete.
