What was the best part about using Cision PR Edition?
Cision is PR software used for marketing, media monitoring, media list building, distribution and analysis. I was pretty impressed when I did search for this application and found it`s developer, swedish company Cision AB, which seems to be founded in 1892 (!!) but merged with Vocus in 2015 and formed Cision Inc.
The application itself is very easy to use and that is a good thing, because if you can figure out, how everything works, fast enough, you can start to work as soon as possible and get your productivity up the scale. If you set everything up just right, you can be very efficient with this system and it`s report feature, allows you to show your boss, why PR ir so important, by letting him see that since you started your campaigns, your income beats similiar company`s income by two times. That is the result, that every CEO want`s to see.
Customer service really comes forward, showing you step-by-step tutorial and give instructions how to maximize the result and this software is really user-friendly.
If you are a PR professional, you can really gain some authority and build strong PR campaigns with this application. After every campaign, this software allows you to do analysis and consider if the campaign went as planned. Also, you can it helps you to manage your social data, customize how people see your webpage, when they use search engines. It allows you to contact press people and help to improve relationship with them.
Search options also can save you a lot of time, because of all the filters avaliable. This application also offers a big contact list so you can find new media contacts from traditional media to bloggers, which they update all the time, so you can spread your campaign further and further.
What would you change about your experience with Cision PR Edition?
Not everyone can work with this software, because of change, that happens in Cision all the time. From one point, it is a good thing, but there are not many people who can adapt. The person, who is going to try work with this software, must be adaptive, go with the change and try to make the best of it. Also, I have heard that management needs more focus on the people who are into this business and your campaign is interesting to them, not just send it to people in Kirgizstan, which do not really care about your campaign, which leads to no result in your hard work. Moreover, Cision`s user interface is not as inuivative, as people wants it to be. It is classical, has a great overview, but people think they deserve something more for the price they are paying for, some new features and options.
Overall Feedback
This is a great software to outreach journalists, magazines and bloggers, but you have to work hard if you want to make your PR campaign to work, because of the non-stop refreshing contact list. Also, this sofware suits best for the big and middle class companies, as the small companies does not have enough income to pull off $5,700 for a single license and additional user licenses $1,275 each. As controversial as people about this software are, I can`t deny that maybe this is one of the best applications to secure outreach of your PR campaign, because of the big contact list. I this software 4 stars not 5, because of contact list that sometimes goes off-topic with contacts that are not related to your campaign. If they would optimize this contact generator by location, interests or different filter, then this software would be more productive and would deserve 5 star rating.
