Sketchup

Sketchup is a nice cad software, this software is easy to use , the truth is my first cad software I use, because of its easy to use tools and even the user of it, don’t know anything about cad software can use like me! I can also use it even in phones and to let the times go on without knowing it, when I’m bored and nothing to do in a trip.

Sketchup is not easy to use in mobile phones and tablets or ipad with 7inches of screen, it is also limited regarding to its graphics it can only make like cartonized model design of architectural and its hard to do a 3d design on it, but its okay its good to beginners who aspire to be a good CAD maker.

Overall this software is helpful to those who wants to make a model of houses, buildings, and other architectural design without any training from videos or getting help from others because its tools and its features design for beginners and not techy users like us :D so I say at least try it so can understand what I’m saying.

SketchUp is very straightforward and simple CAD software. It's not difficult at all to learn how to use the program, as its interface is easy to understand and to manage. Downloading is easy as well as opening a new file and starting to model. I love the quick 3D capability it has. It's very user-friendly and versatile. It has all the basic functionality that enables you to create almost everything you want.

I think the tutorial to the software is over-complicated and should be made a little bit easier and understandable to encourage new users to use the program. Having any experience with similar products, it's not a problem at all. As I mentioned above, SketchUp is very flexible, and that may cause the incorrect or inefficient use of the software. Besides, the software tends to be slow as files become very large fast enough and thus slow the overall performance.

SketchUp is easy to use an option which can lead to some splendid designs. The product has a great variety of features, but it is not over complicated like so many other products available. Its SketchUp Pro option can be used to design modern complex buildings with all the finishes and furniture, equipment and lighting. The LayOut function is used then to memorize what we have designed in the Construction Documents section. Using SketchUp it's easy and efficient to visually share our ideas and constructional plans. I would extremely recommend this software for everyone, both for designers and the ones who takes architecture design as a hobby, it's a fantastic and user-friendly program that creates 3D environments with really little effort.

I especially liked the user interface which is pretty simple and and easy to manage. There is also the Free Trial on offer to make oneself familiarize with most of the features of this product and definitely is a feather in the cap.

There is room for improvement in few of Sketchup features such as 'SketchUp Pro' and 'LayOut'. Users have reported that there are some inconsistencies while using this application. The user instruction manual and the tutorial need a review on how to make it simple even for a first time user. The system is not robust and is prone to frequent crashes which require uploading again consuming significant amount of time. I also found that the navigation among the modules quite complex.

The best way to use Sketchup is by organizing the project tasks on priority and apply the plugins properly. If you are looking to build content for highly rated client projects, then Sketchup and its features are an absolute necessity. I wish it was easy to setup your own shortcut keys . The program proves to be very useful that learning all of its ways can be time consuming and use it effectively . The worst part with Sketchup is that sometimes it was slow, it could be attributed to the computer's specifications, with that in mind it could take a lot of processing power. Also rendering models can really slow down the computer. There is also limited help or support for questions or problems within the program. Video tutorials are available though.

SketchUp is a much simpler CAD (Computer Aided Design) software program than AutoCAD which I've recently tried as well. I immediately felt much more at ease once I started using SketchUp. The user interface makes immediate sense and you can get started designing within a couple of minutes. The design tools themselves are very intuitive to use as well. With assistance maintaining alignment to various axis points when drawing lines, for example. Compared to AutoCAD, SketchUp allows you to sort of play around to learn the functionality. SketchUp makes a point of this on their website which is a part of what drew me to download and begin using their software. If you bumped into SketchUp as you're first CAD software program I would recommend sticking with it because the others so far in my experience are vastly more complicated to learn and begin using efficiently.

It's a simple program but wouldn't be easy to master which is good but would require time which is an asset. I'm still learning my way around this CAD software but I've learned of a few things to be aware of as far as limitations, or opportunities for SketchUp to become better. Such as the ability to place more than one or two files inside a document. More advanced inherent guides are possible to which is always a time saver. The symbol based menus aren't my favorite in that it's another set of language to learn which is not absolutely necessary if there are labels to go with the icons. It's not one set of new symbols which is the problem. It's the fact that we use multiple software in our day to day lives and when there are multiple icon based menus to learn it can be cumbersome because they each take a bit of time to learn and recall each time you use them.

Even though it may not be the industry authority SketchUp is a professional software that facilitates creativity, which for me is what differentiates SketchUp from other major industry CAD design and drafting software I've tried during my research. I would like to use SketchUp to design my future home but also for creative purposes in film and games. SketchUp allows me to work with dimensions which can feasibly become a reality while enjoying the process more by having fun with an otherwise professional software. The core 3D functionality is available for free as well which is massive value in this offer. You can upgrade one day to their Pro version which allows you to communicate with your designs to architects and whoever is going to build on your designs. But meanwhile, you're able to create with no limitations until you're ready. This is a smart business model that builds trust and appreciation from their users which will happily upgrade one day. Highly recommended.

SketchUp is a very well known architectural program and for a good reason. It is suited for both the beginners and for the expert users and is very simple, but at the same time very useful having a whole range of different but great and important features. Being a program for both beginners and eperts, it is a great learning tool and it even has a free version for beginners just learning the program which is incredibly useful to anyone that is just starting out and doesn't want to spend a lot of money on a product they don't know they will like.

Although it is a great product for both the most experienced of users as well as the very begginers, how simple it is might sometimes be a bit of an issue because sometimes it may be too simple for some people and sometimes, you won't be able to accomplish your task at hand because it's just not possible in this program. But that is a minor thing all in all.

If you want a simple and at the same time powerful program for your architectural needs and whether you are a beginner or an expert, you will, most likely be satisfied with the SketchUp. My recommendation is to give it a try and see if you will like it as it might be a bit too simple for you and you might not want to needlessly spend your money on it, or you just might not like it for some other reason, either the way it looks or the way it works or anything else at all, no matter what. So, in order to solve that issue, you can just go and try the free version of the program and if you like it, then you can upgrade, of course, and if not, no harm done.
