Sketchup

SketchUp is a very well known architectural program and for a good reason. It is suited for both the beginners and for the expert users and is very simple, but at the same time very useful having a whole range of different but great and important features. Being a program for both beginners and eperts, it is a great learning tool and it even has a free version for beginners just learning the program which is incredibly useful to anyone that is just starting out and doesn't want to spend a lot of money on a product they don't know they will like.

Although it is a great product for both the most experienced of users as well as the very begginers, how simple it is might sometimes be a bit of an issue because sometimes it may be too simple for some people and sometimes, you won't be able to accomplish your task at hand because it's just not possible in this program. But that is a minor thing all in all.

If you want a simple and at the same time powerful program for your architectural needs and whether you are a beginner or an expert, you will, most likely be satisfied with the SketchUp. My recommendation is to give it a try and see if you will like it as it might be a bit too simple for you and you might not want to needlessly spend your money on it, or you just might not like it for some other reason, either the way it looks or the way it works or anything else at all, no matter what. So, in order to solve that issue, you can just go and try the free version of the program and if you like it, then you can upgrade, of course, and if not, no harm done.
