What was the best part about using Sisense?
Sisense is a business intelligence software as a service which allows you to interconnect many different sources of data using an agile approach which is highly visual and easy to use relative to the complexity possible by utilizing multiple massive datasets in a single, central location such as in this software. There's a free trial available without a credit card required and is the extent of my experience in the interest of transparency but having recently testing Microsoft Power BI, MixPanel, Chart.io, TeamGantt, Zoho Reports and at least half a dozen more I feel there is plenty of value in my opinion worth sharing.
There is no doubt Sisense is an enterprise level BI tool. I like the logical, visual methodology used to create an interconnected map of your datasets and sources to be analyzed. And also to have a lot of configuration in regards to switching up the view and perhaps gain insight from various new perspective, or new combination of perspectives. This is a really advanced way to analyze big data and disparate data in the simplest ways possible. On a side note, these guys have one of the coolest website I have ever seen. And I honestly haven't cared to comment about my favorite website designs at all really, ever, that I can recall. It's just cool and vibrant yet sleek and informative in a very noticeable way in my opinion as a web and graphic designer.
I cannot personally envision a much simpler way to interconnect so many different datasets and retain this much functionality in terms of customization and configuration both prior and post crunching of combined data. Though I do find Chart.io to be the simplest BI tool to use with similar multiple sources and datasets possible and to be more intuitive overall. And perhaps even more visual though without perhaps quite the level of configuration prior to analyzing the data. Chart.io happens more in real time, I believe which has it's purposes and suit our company better actually, while Sisense will certainly suit companies with more customization needed up front.
Though Chart.io is perhaps more cost effective as well though I cannot confirm directly as of yet, I only refer to the Pricing page not having any pricing but offering a submit form for your interest in speaking to a sales rep. And the fact that huge companies use this platform and for good reason such as Ebay, Forbes, WSJ, TechCrunch says a lot. If you have a pre-defined set of attributes and queries you must utilize in order to retrieve specific reporting analytics then Sisense is a great option to consider. And otherwise as well, I personally found other services better suited to our needs and more intuitive overall but that's just my opinion. This is a extremely powerful, world class option most certainly.
What would you change about your experience with Sisense?
I would suggest having a clear plan up front, taking advantage of their ninety minute trial with your actual data, utilizing the trial download, all of their educational resources and documentation to have a plan in order prior to investing simply because the implementation will be a bit of a process using Sisense due to it's robust capabilities, however the return on investment is going to be outstanding. There would be amazing insights possible using this platform and crunching several big data sets and disparate data simultaneously, with the number views possible to consider and analyze new patterns and trends which relate to your company performance and bottom line directly.
Overall Feedback
This business intelligence software as a service is tremendously powerful and relatively easy to pick up and get started. Though to utilize so many datasets and customize variables and attributes and then search or query your newly crunched data in the most streamlined, efficient and productive way is going to take time in house. Though having premium support, a dedicated account manager and support otherwise is going to easily justify the cost. Being able to perform massive analytics and gain tremendous insight from so many varied sources this relatively easily is going to open up eyes, because of the actionable intelligence offered not previously possible prior to BI companies like Chart.io and Sisense.
