There are many differences and they all begin with the fact that ReferenceEdge is a native application for Salesforce. It leverages the Salesforce platform fully, nothing is hosted outside of Salesforce, which makes security folks much more comfortable. 4-6 weeks is the typical implementation period. The amount of data that needs to be migrated from other systems to ReferenceEdge is the biggest variable. (more)
