What was the best part about using Eventbrite?
EventBrite is an online ticket vendor for events available in your local town or city. It's free to sign up and it's free to host events which is great. There is an awesome affiliate program as well so you can sell tickets from your own website or drive traffic to any of there offers and receive a decent percentage from each sale.
I am very impressed with amount of events here in Toronto on EventBrite. I just booked a free VIP pass to NBA All Star weekend at various events so that's amazing. The user interface of your account is very user friendly. It's easy to search and navigate anything you want to find. You can search by keyword or category and there are a decent amount of categories available including Tech, Conferences, Seminars, Arts, Charities and Causes, Business, Health, Community, Spirituality, Fashion, Sports & Fitness and quite a few more.
I was impressed when seeing lots of events in my old home city with about one hundred thousand people for a population. I like that you can configure a lot of option in your account including the ability to have multiple users which is great. You can host events for free which is perhaps the strongest feature about EventBrite. So you can sell tickets without any charges up front which is terrific. There is also a referral program available in addition to the affiliate program so you can refer other ticket vendors and event hosts to join and receive a percentage of the sales as well.
I was happy to learn there are a few useful integrations because I was concerned that you could not export your list into your email marketing service. But you can they have MailChimp and Aweber so the big couple are natively integrated which is great. There is also Pardot which is a business database, SalesForce as a CRM and Zapier which enables you to integrate over five hundred pre-built apps. So you're pretty much covered with any integration you may need and it's free to use as well which is outstanding.
There's a trust built into when using EventBrite which is helpful. The platform is very popular so you will have an easier time organizing events and selling tickets because the platform is secure, reliable and proven to be trustworthy as a company over time. The fact that you don't have to start by building your own website in order to sell tickets is a smart idea which will get your event to market much more efficiently. And the fact that there are no fees until you sell tickets, and they are quite reasonable when you do, means there is pretty much no reason not to use this as a main platform for hosting your events.
What would you change about your experience with Eventbrite?
It appears the contact management would become quite cumbersome once you had a few hundred in the database. The organization is not as efficient as it could be perhaps. That is a good reason to integrate your customer relationship management software certainly if you're using SalesForce or you could utilize Zapier to do so. Or your email marketing service could be the solution as well. Either way it's important in my opinion to get the contacts out of EventBrite so you can follow up accordingly. I believe the customization of your forms and other items in your account could be more customizable such as the form field order or branding many more items to suit your company, for example.
Overall Feedback
Overall, the platform is very easy to learn and navigate. The integrations are one of the strongest features of EventBrite including SurveyMonkey, HubSpot, Aweber, MailChimp and several other very useful third party services which extend the functionality greatly and it's very easy to integrate in a couple clicks which is awesome. You can never complain about having something so useful which is completely free to use and as as a sales tool as well.
