Benn a user since approximately 1995. Due to what I considered an excess in pricing I left during the years 2016 and 32017. Came back in 2018. The software is not the issue. I never us3ed the early renewal , always bought the software in December. Was shocked to see a $5700 + charge on my credit card in July. Accordingly, I called to request a refund. I was told that in 1958, I elected to use automatic renewal (no record of this on my copy of the renewal form) and was not charged the automatic renewal in 2019, 2020 or 2021. I assumed that it was not in play. I spoke with a customer service rep about removing the charge on my credit card. I was told that there would be a 5% charge for doing this. I requested that I speak to a supervisor, and I got the exact same answer. They do not listen they just keep reading the company line even when you try to correct them. I should have protested the charge instead of contacting support. By the way, like many companies, they have support staff that are so heavily accencented that they are very difficult to understand at times.

Software is heads above the software I tried in 2016 and 2017. Their additional charges for electronic filing, software maintenance, per return cost for Corporate and partnership returns and in certain cases charges for customer service add several thousand in additional charges resulting in a total cost that exceeds $7500.00 even for a small firm. Support seems knowledgeable but customer service is totally lacking. In short after years of using their product and their vague use of the election that I supposedly made in 2018 to go ahead and charge me for the 2022 software early renewal is really questionable, their attitude is totally unacceptable. For price alone I was considering a software change. Their actions with respect to the early renewal retraction fee sealed the deal.
