I find Twitter most interesting from a fan perspective being able to follow along with what your favorite mentors and celebrities using the Twitter app on my iPhone. It's cool to have a peek into people's lives you find interesting. Twitter has great mobile accessibility and makes it easy to Tweet messages from any device that you have an internet connection and connect to almost anyone, anywhere. I like that it's free and suits anyone from individuals to small and large businesses to non-profits and public administrations. It's also supported in several countries and several languages making it a truly global app. Twitter don't need to know each other socially before connecting on the network with information freely made public by celebrities, news organizations, your favorite brands as well as friends and family. Every company would do well to be on Twitter. It's unique in that you can only Tweet one hundred character messages or less so it's not overly disruptive. While Twitter also helps you engage your following by your Tweets appearing in others Twitter feeds, which helps increase visibility and awareness of your brand. You can use Twitter to contact customers directly to learn feedback about your business. As well as you hashtags (#) made popular by Twitter and adopted by all social media networks as a way to search for tags containing your keyword interests. This makes Twitter a great platform for discovering brand mentions and brand advocates as well as tracking real time business intelligence in your industry and competition. And you can gain insight into high profile individuals and organizations and connect with them. Twitter syncs easily to other social networks or your website easily as well. You can utilize a plugin or some code to embed Twitter on your website in a few clicks. You can also promote your content on Twitter such as presentations, articles and video freely. In turn, this helps to drive traffic to your website. It also helps search engine optimization as the platform provides high page rank social signals.

The character limit is good and bad. It keeps the messaging short and concise which is easiest to absorb in a busy day as Tweets are bite sized information which can be read and understood very quickly. But it can be limiting sometimes too if you have long article titles though the fact you can use a URL shortener when Tweeting helps. Twitter didn't have advertising until a few years back and you can understand they needed a better monetization model but it can clutter your Twitter feed a bit. There's a lot of spam on Twitter. I've bumped into Twitter spam bots which make it easy to add followers or auto post Tweets about the same topic over and over again.

Twitter is a cool resource for searching information and people you're most interested in. It's easy to personalize what information you receive and I like staying up to date with people I look up to. Twitter is popular in the news world too so you can rely on it to receive breaking news whether it's local or global. Twitter as a business tool may be best in addition to other social media platforms to supplement your efforts. I've used it to promote directly and the traffic accounted for a fraction of our overall efforts but it still adds up. Twitter is a solid platform which may best to post quick tips and run contests which would gain the most attention and drive traffic to your landing page. Recommended.
