What was the best part about using PeopleStreme?
The claimed feature set is pretty good. We chose to implement this software based on the wide range of features and functionality, and while most of these features technically exist, they are not well integrated, and there is zero benefit to have them in a single package.
What would you change about your experience with PeopleStreme?
The user interface is a disgrace. Its inconsistent and non intuitive. The software is slow. Implementation and training services are poor. Peoplestreme staff used to provide training don't know the software well. Its painful and time consuming to do performance reviews. Reporting is amateurish and there is no proper access to the database.
Overall Feedback
We installed this software over a year ago, and after considerable time and expense getting it installed and configured, we pulled it out and replaced with more effective, easier to use, and faster software after 9 months struggling with Peoplestreme. To be fair, we purchased 2 pieces of software to do what Peoplestreme claimed to be able to do - Workable for recruitment and candidate management and PeopleGoal for performance management, however this has proven to be a far better solution than the debacle that is Peoplestreme.
The biggest problem is the UI - it makes no sense at all, and seems to have been created with no overall sense of design, and certainly no significant user experience modelling. It's as if given the option to implement a feature in several different ways, the developer always chose the easiest to code rather then the option that makes sense to the end user. All our staff, managers and team leaders hated it. Universally. We have implemented around 8 significant pieces of software in our business in the last 5 years, and we have never had worse feedback from our people about an installation. There are far better tools available on the market that do the same job in a manner that actually works.
Whatever you do, don't lock into a long term contract. Demand a trial period. Get someone internally to actually use the software before you purchase it, and compare the user experience with several other (far better, more efficient and effective, better featured, and cheaper) alternatives. If the purpose of implementing Peoplestreme is to improve engagement, this software within our organisation had the opposite effect. Performance reviews and milestones became a chore to be avoided, and the recruitment module was worse than our previous method of using shared outlook mailboxes and folders.
