What was the best part about using Orbit CMB?
As with all CSA products, the best part of using CMB is the partnership with CSA to provide a utility software package that fits the needs of a continuously changing utility environment. In this new age of AMI, meter data management, business and customer portals, mobile service orders via iPads, outage management, prepay, document workflow, electronic billing, kiosks, etc. the importance of interfacing in real-time is a requirement. CSA has listened to the needs of utilities and provided an array of products with real time interfaces. Being Great Plains based, this product especially works well with multi-service utilities. It posts sales and accounts receivable transactions to the appropriate general ledger accounts for each department. We recommend you look hard at joining the CSA family.
What would you change about your experience with Orbit CMB?
This is not a simple enter the meter reading and send out the bills product. It is designed for utilities that want to go beyond the basic services. Once trained, employees with any software aptitude will have no problem using the product. It’s kind of like getting a new smartphone…..it can be tricky until you learn the product. But once you use it a few times, you are loving it.
Overall Feedback
This CMB system is designed for the progressive utility. If you desire a plain Jane system that simply prints out bills, this is not the system for you. However, if your goal is to provide your customers some or all of the benefits associated with advancing technology, I suggest you take a close look at what CSA has to offer. They offer a complete package of impressive products. And best of all…..You will not find a nicer bunch of people that will listen to your needs and provide you a solution.
