I like the fact that you can connect with many professionals and grow your network. I use LinkedIn Recruiter to help me find great talent near a particular location. The Inmails are a great way to reach out to both active and passive candidates. The pool of talent is growing. daily. The talent requirements I have are met by people on LinkedIn.

For the recruiter - you may be saddled with bunch of glorified profiles with exalted perspectives of who they are (yet to come across profiles which do not say that they have changed the world) Product feature of recommendations from other members sounds pretty cliched as almost everyone is an expert on everything. Endorsements mention skill-sets which is helpful but no calibration/ scale of how good/ depth/ breadth they are is lacking. For example I have seen people with 4 years of experience getting endorsed for Business Strategy - which is fine as long as you have a feature to also say that Business Strategy - Beginner. Without a grading/ rating scale - the recruiter is likely to be confused.

It's an invaluable resource for connecting to top tier talent. Inquire about discounts, specials to try to bring down the cost. You can incorporate Hiring Managers as users within the tool to track all correspondence. I highly recommend. If you're looking to recruit, and are willing to wade through the unqualifieds, then use this product.
