LastPass

LastPass is a identity and security software which allows you to enable several time saving functions such as saving your passwords and filling them in when you need them automatically. I have used LastPass for about the last five years and I rely on it every day. There are three plans available including a free forever plan which is great. And then a twelve dollar per year plan which basically allows you to access the mobile app containing your passwords and identity profiles. Twenty four dollars per year gets you their team plan which is also outstanding value. I use LastPass every day for other reasons. I have created several profiles including personal, business and others for specialized form filling. You can add all of your information to a profile and use this to fill in forms when you are signing up for new online accounts. It is a huge time saver. I do this for business as well and it saves me several hours per week simply because the nature of my current project has me sign up to have hands on experience with new business software so I use it for business purposes about fifty times per week. Each time saving three to five minutes approximately. I have placed more sensitive financial information in CC and custom fields and saves time when making purchases as well though do so at your discretion. Definitely do not do this using LastPass on a public computer. My desktop and laptop are exclusively used by myself so I don't sweat the heat you can cause by having this access enabled in your account. Take precaution. Be safe. LastPass will ask you to confirm that you want to place information on secured sites so it is simply static like other notes in LastPass. It seems kept more securely with this confirmation of passing this information each time it occurs which I do not mind.

There are a few things which occur but are usually based on your own settings and may not be an actual glitch, but there is always a workaround and it happens quite infrequently. For example, last night when I went to login to a client Webmail it auto-filled the username with the last used email account but I needed to login to a new email I had just created, so I replaced the first name of the email because the domain is the same and when I clicked Submit it logged me in and then out again very quickly, while replacing my user inforamtion with the last email used information once again. I did the same procedure again and it worked fine, which I knew it would having used this software a lot. And it does not do this for almost every other login, it's usually fine. I recall it occurs logging into WHM, Cpanel, Webmail and the rare random other site but perhaps only five percent of sites or less if I was to guess. I also wish it could copy and paste both the Username and Password from your account when the auto-fill is unavailable from the drop down list and you end up bringing up the Edit screen for a particular login. This happens quite a lot and it is a perfectly reasonable work around but it would save someone such as myself more time and add up to be significant time savings over the next five years of using it. I currently have well over five hundred accounts in my LastPass dashboard and you can search through them quickly. Though I often use multiple logins for the same software such as Gmail or CPanel and it could most definitely handle multiple logins better in general.

I use a tandem of Roboform and LastPass and have done so for over five years. Roboform I have used for over ten years and included LastPass when it launched. I am glad to pay for LastPass the value is incredible and most secure, though there was news of a breach a couple of years ago I did not receive a notice that my account had been. There is always a risk when using identity software certainly and if you only have five or ten logins to deal with then your most secure option is to hold off altogether. But if you have many logins because of your job or for your clients then saving time is important and the time saved every single day outweighs the risk in my situation and in my opinion. And it's FREE. Highly recommended.
