HootSuite

We started using HootSuite when social media became one of our strongest avenues for lead acquisition and for our customer support. Our customers have come to expect a quick response from our team and we are happy and able to oblige them through HootSuite. It has become a great place for our team to be able to respond to our customers and for us to put out announcements on new developments and achievements for our company. Our audience continues to grow and we are able to monitor that growth over time; it has become a great asset for our company.

HootSuite can become quite expense to use, especially if your company finds data to be important. There are a lot of fees to be paid to them for how many users we have connected to our account and with the types of reports we try to use to improve the services we are offering to our customers. These are costs that we need to eat, but it would be nice to have more analytics and reports made available to us. Paying for a custom URL shortener in this day and age seems to be a step backward, but it must be working for them. There were a few cases where we had issues with the software; the silence between the identification and the resolution of an issue can become frightening; but HootSuite has kept us going.

If you're a single person managing social media, HootSuite can be a great deal. If you're a large company that can bite the bullet on the costs, it is a great software. There are cheaper alternatives out there, but I cannot really comment on whether they are great investments or not. HootSuite has worked great for us and we are more than willing to pay the fees associated with our usage because the tool has become an integral part of our business. We have a few complaints here and there, but we are satisfied customers all the more.
