Dropbox

Dropbox's recent updates such as live commenting, password protection and expiration dates for shared links are very helpful for document management. In fact, I've tried using it for sharing confidential files such payslips and it became a big part of our payroll for a few months. We've stopped using it for payroll but has continued sharing big, small and confidential all through Dropbox.

One challenge I see now is the difficulty in doing revisions on the documents saved in Dropbox (website), there's no other option but to download and upload the documents which make things slower. I know I could save and sync the folder right in my PC but the other problem would be that Dropbox consumes my PC's memory as well. I hope Dropbox could find a work around this concern.

I've been using Dropbox since 2011 and just recently, I purchased 1TB of storage (for a ridiculously cheap price) from it because I know how much it could help me secure my files from unexpected loss. If the feature I mentioned above will be implemented by Dropbox, I'll give them 6 out of 5 stars.

As we all know that dropbox is a known file storage and using dropbox is just like using any other file storage devices just like hard drive and flash drive. The only thing is that it is convenient meaning no need to carry any storage devices anywhere you are. You only have to do is to install it to your computer device and you are connected to internet network connection. As a matter of fact our company where I am working right now is using this kind of storage device whereas saving our important company files and the good thing about is you can share your files using dropbox. When I was a student we our classmates are using dropbox to save our projects and sharing each others idea and projects done through dropbox. Also in our major subjects in our school there were dropbox installed. Through dropbox we feel more connected to each other. Sharing each others projects and assignments. A convenient and helpful one.

The only thing I worried about dropbox is that may be some other users will hack your dropbox account we don't know they will going to delete your important files or copy it we can't say what they are thinking.Also I am not that confident with the security of the dropbox not that sure if I can recover my files if I accidentally delete it. And you can't access if the computer you are using is not connected to internet or there's no dropbox install to the computer device (if your using other computer device without dropbox) some other in internet shop.

All in all it is good thing to have an account in Dropbox to save your important files that no need to bring any flash drive device. Though not so sure on the security of your files, you know its connected in a network internet you can't please what is thinking about other users. But in the other hand it helps a lot on me and to others that having and want their files to be save on a network application. And the other thing is you can use it or access it through cellphone.

Some name gets associated with a service that we tend to identify those services using the product. For online cloud storage, Dropbox is that name. Dropbox may be offering least in terms of free storage, however, people tend to still use it because of the reliability and ease of use. It syncs perfectly with your computer or smartphone and provide an affordable cloud backup service. You can use Dropbox only as browser based application or you can install desktop and smartphone apps and sync the data between all your devices. If a change is made in one of the files, updated version is provided across all devices. Dropbox does continuous and incremental updates. Therefore, it will only update the file which you changed and sync it across all connected devices. This way you are not wasting time syncing the stuff manually every time. The pro version offers additional storage and ability to recover deleted files or previous file version (all within 30 days). Sharing the content is as easy as copying the link and sending it across. Smartphones apps work great as well.

When it comes to backing up data online, the biggest fear anyone has is of data theft. We have seen enough leaked celebrity images to know that this stuff can be hacked. Dropbox pro does offer password protected links, however, it does not support private encrypted keys. Pro version is missing the scheduler feature as well and you cannot backup files automatically at a scheduled time. Continous syncing of data can eat into your bandwidth as well.

If you are looking for an affordable online backup service then Dropbox is certainly on top of the list. You can use the referral system to increase your free allocated space up to 16 GB, which is a lot for a reliable and easy to use service. You can easily share files with anyone and clean user interface makes it easy to understand various features of the service. Pro version with additional features and 1 TB storage space is also an affordable solution. Dropbox is highly recommended.

Before I remember that I was always carrying so many flashdisks and DVD to save all of my important documents, videos, photos data, and etc. I just realized that doing such thing could mean alot of risks for my files. And yeah, there were so many times that I've freaked out because those things get broken and sometimes can't be fixed, so at the end it I've lost some of my important files. Yeah, but thanks to technological advancement we have right now, Dropbox is created to make my life easier. The good thing about Dropbox is that I don't need to carry my important files anymore using my traditional Flashdisks. They have their own cloud server where I can save my file online and use it when I want, anywhere I want, and send to whom I want. This poses no risks of losing my important files because everything is secured in their servers.

Well, everything is not perfect and I know that. The products has so many pros that I can throw into this review right now. However we must face the fact that there are also cons in this software. The software sometimes shows some bugs and delays, but mostly this can also be caused your internet Speed. There are also some concerns in terms of your file security, and accessibility. Off course you need internet to access your files.

Citing that things I still think that Dropbox is a great game changer in the way we Sync and share and files to the ever growing internet populace. The software offers so much ease for everyone who wants to secure big files, and important files. And you never have to pay the service if you'll just use it for a small sized data, they offer it for free. Yet rest assured, that if you upgrade to a premium account all your big files will be safe and sound in their Cloud servers. For me that is a great way to spend some money. Before I forget the Dropbox's UI is so easy to navigate!

The best part of dropbox is, that I don’t have to carry data with me at all. Data can reached from any part of the world. Data storage is free for fixed size, which is sufficient until you are using dropbox at company level. Ease of use is one of the great feature of dropbox.

bad part is that synchronization needed whenever you want use the file on local system, which cost in term time. The time will increase with file size. The worst part is, what if your credential is hacked i.e. you are no longer to gain access to your data and data can also be misused.

I highly recommend dropbox as it become the de facto standard in file storage and sharing on cloud environment. Dropbox is great utility app in today’s environment that can help you in getting organized and make you free from carrying data all the time. you don’t need paid service until your data size is limited.

The first thing which strikes you when hearing the name of 'Dropbox' is a great storage medium to store all your important data. The best part is it is widely known and accepted by various users across different geographical regions and is accessible 'FREE' of cost to a sizable limit. No wonder it is the number 1 choice and the most popular among all generations. I use 'Dropbox' to store my important presentations, large PDF files, and images. It eliminates the risk of carrying a pen drive when i am travelling to do my presentations.

I have been using Dropbox for quite a few years and it outshines its competitors by a mile! However, in order to retain its market leadership, the following points can be addressed: 1. The upload and download features can be improved upon in terms of speed 2. Consider reducing the number of referral steps in order to increase storage space for 'Free' 3. The pop-up messages can be made more user-friendly

Dropbox is one of the best cloud storage options available in the market. I have used only the 'Free' version and if i required more storage, I would do the referral process. If the price tag can be reduced that would be great help but having said that it has robust security features, which is well worth the buy!. Beyond any doubt, it is my my most preferred storage product and am sure it is the same with most of the users as well..

Dropbox works like Google Drive in that it is cloud based file storage software which is secured while remaining easy to access across all your devices. I've had horrible experiences losing data and the security Dropbox provides with it's backup capabilities is simple and effective. It's easy to retrieve files anytime and on any device and preview files in the Dropbox account. Retrieving files from Dropbox is simple as the interface is very straight forward. Click the box next to the file and select 'Download'. Look for it on your desktop or where ever you access online downloads. It's nice zipped files aren't always necessary. While this takes up additional space in your Dropbox account not doing so, it can be useful when dealing with clients who are not computer savvy, so it will speed up file sharing without having to provide a zip file tutorial. Files refresh in Dropbox instantly and permissions can be set per file. Allowing others to only download individual files, or edit all files in a folder. I like the versioning functionality a lot as well. Dropbox notes the next version of files uploaded if they have the same title. Useful especially with instances where it's best to have backups of ongoing versions such as in software development, for example. You can also set expiration dates for file sharing and downloads. This is useful for marketing purposes when giving away a free product to your list as a scarcity tactic. The referral program is a nice way to increase the size of my account storage.

I was wondering if Dropbox would sync on an older Linux run laptop I have, but just read it would not do so. Not a big deal as it's not my primary laptop. But has me question whether Dropbox works well across various platforms and browsers with a bearing on my purchasing decisions. Dropbox effects the start up time of your computer. The files syncing in the background does as well. While it's kept to a minimum it's always running in the background. Based on my computer status it had varying effects on my start up time; sometimes it was faster or slower. But it was noticeable. Syncing files initially takes time. Depending on how many it can take many hours. While it's a one time thing for each computer added to the Dropbox account it's got to be done. Which makes syncing files at the end of a long day at home using your Dropbox work folder takes time too, if you have to turn on the computer and refresh it with new files added. The pricing to me seems a bit on the expensive side. I appreciate the security though it's priceless especially if it saves your butt one day. But based on other options available it is relatively more expensive for the same amount of storage.

Dropbox is a great solution for secure file storage and role based file sharing. It's amazing to view my files using any device I currently operate daily. And I've shared countless files with contractors, JV partners and clients using Dropbox. I've not contacted their support but I've read it's not great. I'd imagine it's excellent for paid accounts though I'm guessing. I highly recommend the free option and the paid option if you have the means, or a need for leading file storage and security in one easy to use account.
