Dr. Explain

We really like the outputs: HTML, CHM and PDF. All coming from the same content. The HTML is especially appealing.

Would be nice to have navigation links in PDF as not having them has caused empty pages due to sub topics. The PDF in general is a bit harder to work with probably due to PDF rules. We just basically created out content to fit PDF and HTML and CHM just fell out perfectly. We don't use the capture and annotate as we don't find this very user friendly. What we've been doing is creating our content in Microsoft Word (using preferred callouts that we can manage) and then using screen shots and simply pasting into Dr. Explain. Maybe sounds odd, but this has worked especially well for us in being consistent and then easily creating the three outputs: HTML, CHM and PDF

We've had Dr. Explain for awhile, but just recently we needed to overhaul our application which in turn required an overhaul (much needed) User Guide. We downloaded the latest Dr. Explain version: 5.6.1129. This version was much easier for us to get acclimated than past versions. Highly recommend Dr. Explain. Take the time to navigate around the application, changing things to see what changes and how it looks. Then, once you have your options set, go for it. We had to request some support on some items. Support was extremely helpful and very fast.
