What was the best part about using Deem?
Deem is an online expense software which makes it easier for reps, agents, techs, devs and managers to submit their expenses. The whole system is designed to save time, money and energy and it does this very well. Compared to the old school manual ways that were the norm for so long this system is ridiculously faster and simpler than ever before. The ability to snap a pic of your receipt and upload it to your account with a few clicks to me is a thing of beauty.
The amount of paperwork saved is immense and the ability to keep things organized is much better overall. There is far less miscommunication and human error typically because things are dealt with immediately for the large part. Receipts are not lingering or scattered in any way until the end of the month when your expense report is due for example. They are labeled, uploaded and categorized all within a couple of minutes of receiving the receipt, or should be anyways, and that's a big thing with thousands of receipts and a large team to have to deal with so this software is kind of a life saver.
I was happy in my research to learn that the large majority of people are super happy with Deem's service. People tend not to hold back and so you can get a good, well rounded idea of the general direction the company seems to be heading with an hour of your time doing your due diligence. There are dedicated mobile apps for Deem which is good too. The native mobile access is important to enable remote techs to have it makes their jobs much more efficient.
This software compared to the other I have tried has the best Travel options that I recall. The ability to take care of your plane ticket as well as your hotel, flight, train, car rental, airport parking and car service all from a centralized dashboard is great. And it's all there easy to use. I like there is drag and drop technology which is my fave because it is just quick to use to build reports. The reporting can also be automated which is great. I like that you can setup policies which expenses must adhere to in order to be qualified for reimbursement just to be on the safe side.
What would you change about your experience with Deem?
Unless I am mistaken it would be nice to receive email alerts when you have a new expense charge. And it would be cool to split them up easier for multiple locations. The user interface is not nearly as instantly intuitive as I have experienced with Gusto, Expensify and WagePoint in my opinion though it's pretty simple. There wasn't an interactive walk through of your account when you initially login which is okay because it's not super challenging but I do like a one or two minutes or a quick video to be able to get my head around everything succinctly rather than by just exploring. It's just a matter of there only being so much time in a day. When you're researching a lot of software these things add up and are appreciated. Not a big deal.
Overall Feedback
I have been doing quite a lot of research into similar software in the market in order to learn of the best for our business. I've tried Expensify, Patriot Pay, Gusto, SutiExpense, WagePoint, Nexonia and TriNet Suite though there may have been more. They are all quite good and seem to vary in terms of simplicity and reliability for the most part. Deem seems to be on par with the rest in terms of core functionality though I don't know if it can match WagePoint in terms of price and functionality. Deem doesn't have their pricing available on the site you must contact them to get a quote which is a good indicator that it's perhaps on the costlier side relatively speaking. To be honest there is not enough that differentiates it from their competition enough for me to say that I would anyhow. Though I am grateful for the trial and recommend anyone do check them out just to learn more. If you have not used expense software prior to this for your business you're in for a treat. It's such a time saver it's awesome and Deem would certainly do the trick should I have not found another which may suit us better.
