This was among the companies I had contacted recently to learn if they were the best fit for our local search engine optimization campaign. They were quite highly rated on this site so I was curious to know why and what differentiated them from their competition. There were a few posts on their blog with some valuable content and no major red flags to report.

Their SEO Woorank was fifty nine out of one hundred which was on the lower end during my research. I liked seeing how various companies lead by example through their own services to help indicate credibility. The average was about seventy five or so, the high was ninety two and the lowest thirty six to give you an idea as to the range involved. They were not listed in the Better Business Bureau which would be the fastest way to facilitate trust in prospects externally of their site in my opinion. They were not Google Partner certified which would help validate their expertise. This issue is minor and cosmetic at best perhaps but the slider on their Home page is not professional in my opinion. The use of space, color contrast, and blurry text make it seem unprofessional. If this attention to detail doesn't affect client campaigns that's fine, but if it indicates otherwise then that's a potential issue in my opinion. There were no case studies with in-depth performance metrics related to search engine optimization that I could find on their Work page, and this would help indicate expertise and create trust through their client successes. They claimed to work with many marquee clients on their home page though there are no testimonials or case studies from any of these big brands and it would help both prospects and their business to do so in my opinion.

I am certainly not out to be largely negative about any business and the good news is that this company didn't have any major red flags in my presales research, which I encountered a lot during this phase of our project. And I was pleasantly surprised to receive a very prompt response the next morning from the owner of the company via email and voice mail which was good. And I respect his decision not to share a ball park minimum monthly pricing prior to speaking in person. I offered to nail down an exact time to set up a meeting if their monthly range was within our current scope, however three business days later or nearly four days in total after my request I had still not heard back so I would assume it goes against their policy to be transparent about their pricing without a sales conversation. I accept that, however, we had narrowed down our choice considerably meanwhile and are going in another direction.
