Yellowfin

The Yellowfin software offers a user the ability to create and generate reports in limitless amount of time. It comes with over 50 data visualization types for users to choose from, and also includes easy-to-configure formatting panels for mass distribution. The YelloFin has some good enhancements to include ad-hoc analysis from any browser or mobile device, enhanced location features as well as amazing visualizations. It comes along with spreadsheets that show easier and more accurate import of .CSV files from other sources.

My major grouse with this platform is that it does not include financial forecasting or profit analysis as part of its features. However, one would have expected that as a robust platform, it would come in multiple languages or have impressive bench mark tools. But it does not come with either of these features. It’s a serious setback for the software vendors and I’m hoping they can work on that.

I recommend this platform to the avid users, as it comes with impressive analysis features, offers a friendly user interface as well as trend indicators. The Location Intelligence functionality of the platform allows the end users see their data in map form (charts, graphs). It has the capacity to allow users easily fuse spatial and regular data to generate multilayered maps in numerous formats through mapping visualization functionality. YellowFin came on board with the user in mind as it allows users integrate mash-ups using present GIS tools like the ESRI or MapInfo.
