This software as a service has a lot of features such as employee scheduling and expensing, but I was mostly interested in discovering the best time tracking app for our growing employee based start up as well as for freelancing and gave this software a try recently. It's based in the cloud so you can access it on any device including desktop, laptop, tablet or smartphone. Even though they don't have native apps currently it is just as convenient by visiting their mobile URL. The feature set is very robust though you can disable modules you are not going to use currently. And I appreciate the project wizard which leads you the necessary steps in order to fully setup your account correctly upon initially logging in. Employees can login and begin tracking time worked with a single click, and request time off or changes to their schedule with security measures in place to help ensure security and accountability. As a manager you can view employees who are working in real time as well as create analytic reports, and approve or deny time off or schedule requests.

I appreciate that they have an international approach however in the expense module I don't believe you have the option of choosing kilometers as opposed to mileage, which is unfortunate as most of the world uses the metric system including here in Canada. There are real time monitoring features which would improve accountability of certain jobs which utilize a computer; by taking screenshots and logging keyboard strokes as well as URL's.

Compared to doing things the old school way using paper and pen this software is a gigantic time saver. It would be great to have a lot of their other features besides the time tracking as we continue to grow our business and need to remain organized. And it is a very simple dashboard and functionality to use. However it seems best suited for jobs which have employees, agents or contractors not at their computers such as web based freelancers. It would be terrific for staff working in a shop or sales reps in the field for example. And though their security and accountability features are very good, there are better options for freelancers currently which includes the features I've mentioned above. Otherwise, there is a strong feature set and even though the pricing is slightly higher for lower numbers of staff compared to their competition it is reasonable. And I find the pricing for hundreds of employees to be very good based on the value offered and the time saved.
