And I just spoke to PJ who is one of the owners of the company who called within an hour of my reaching out via their website. In fact, PJ made it two months free in order to bring down the cost per month which was a nice gesture. We spoke for about five minutes which was actually refreshing in the sense that this gentleman was very to the succinct and made sure to differentiate himself from others by making a point of adding several value propositions to consider. First, that any sort of SEO proposal basically means nothing and it is all about results. That's pretty much what you want to hear first thing rather than beating around the bush at all. He mentioned their nine year track record, and the fact that they have clients here in Canada currently, and all over the world.

PJ made no mention of our website in his proposal. The only thing in common with our conversation specifically is the price quoted per month which I gave him as an estimate. Having our website would be a minor yet significant personal touch with minimal additional cost unless this was an automated proposal in which case, it would be have to manually added and then manually emailed which is redundant especially for a company owner in most cases I would assume, but could be wrong. I would like to be offered a tier lower and another higher in terms what is possible with measurable results. I'm surprised there is no mention of the keywords I had passed along, I believe. And nothing relating to our project as far as traffic estimates goes. I appreciate streamlining the sales pipeline but this is a key area where it is possible to add a lot of personalized value in a short amount of time. Yet, this company is clearly successful and relies on a positive reputation and referrals more than proposals perhaps to sell their service which is great if you have this many referrals that a certain percentage will always convert based on reputation and sales pitch. And while I am not requiring complete market research, competitive analysis and business intelligence checked against keyword research in order to measure our exact return on investment there are ways to summarize approximate traffic for page one rankings for keywords using automated software, and this plus a personalized proposal would add value to the prospect and increase the overall conversions of their company, in my opinion.

I appreciate speaking with one of the owners of the company mentioned he wants long term partners and isn't just out for a commission as the owner. You can tell he was confident in his team and ability to provide value. I was also intuiting that he was reading my reactions based on a lot of experience as well, based on my own twenty years of experience in sales and marketing which I respect. As an expert in the SEO field myself, it's very interesting to shop for services. I definitely like PJ's attitude and confidence. He also gets right to the point and makes it clear that results are the only real factor, not found in a proposal any company is going to give us and I can appreciate that. I have not been offered a guarantee by ThinkBigSites as of yet. Nor do I see one in their proposal or on their website. Which is fine if results prove themselves of course, yet other companies offer a wide variety of guarantees and must be a factor when considering an SEO company, in my opinion. I understand Google and other search engines are constantly changing algorithms and such so it's not viable in some instances to do so. But one guarantee which catches my attention is free after six months if there's no page one ranking until there is which is a guarantee currently offered in the industry. Though I will keep ThinkBigSites in the running as one of the top contenders for our services based on their reputation and conversation with the owner being so results based.
