I was interested in a trial of the CWS Time Out software based on a recommendation in order to perform due diligence on behalf a restaurant colleague who wants to streamline the vacation tracking process. And based on the fact I was a General Manager of a restaurant and have extensive business software experience I thought there would be value in sharing what I've learned. Having tested several time tracking softwares recently this was the only one I recall with a specialized component just for tracking vacation days which is great. If you've ever worked at a restaurant and perhaps many other types of businesses chances are you may have written down your request for vacation time or days off in manually in a book. This can get incredible cumbersome and complicated for management in a restaurant with almost fifty employees. I can only imagine how tricky it is for even bigger companies with hundreds or thousands of employees. So I loved the fact that it's possible to streamline this entire process using automation which both staff and management can access and utilize to request, approve and manage time off. It's highly configurable and customizable to match your rules and policies. And it seemed very intuitive and easy for staff to use which was the most important aspect of note in my research.

While there are not many reviews for it yet online what I found was very positive. This is certainly not a negative by any means but for a software that can save you this much time, energy and ultimately financial savings I would like to see this company do more to facilitate online reviews for their software because it deserves to be recognized.

I also found the pricing to be very fair considering the huge amount of time, energy and money it can save you. And considering how deceptively time consuming this aspect of running a restaurant was in my experience with a staff of about twenty five at the time I really wish I knew about it then though I don't believe it was even available at the time. Otherwise, I am glad to pass along a positive recommendation to my colleague regarding Time Out. I believe it does everything a company is looking for in order to streamline vacation tracking in a highly configurable, customizable way and at an affordable price.
