If you work extensively with reports and dashboards then Tableau Desktop is one the better products in the market offering great environment and in multiple output formats. With a Tableau Desktop, you can easily connect to multiple data sources, create dashboards and publish a finished workbook to Tableau Server.I especially liked the extremely simple and easy to understand user interfaces. Also the data visualizations are a treat to watch out for.

I would definitely like Tableau to improve on the formatting aspects so that it is easy to create custom fields. Also I would like to see the relationship between the parameter to a column and addition of new variables in the column should automatically trigger updates to the parameter as well.

Our Organization uses Tableau in the areas of business intelligence and as a constant guide for interfacing our third party suppliers. The customer service team is extremely helpful and proactive in resolving the issues and is a delight to interact with. Our team created few worksheets for database monitoring and logging the status of servers. I especially liked the customization of the graphics features and the dashboard functionality.
