Cloud Takeoff was revolutionary because it moved Construction Estimating off the desktop and into the cloud. You can access your projects from any computer mac or pc so your not tied to just one computer, you can use this software on the job site or from home. You just go to their website and login and all your files are right there. Cloud Takeoff was built using Microsoft Silverlight technology which is sadly no longer supported by browsers like Chrome or Firefox. The tools can only be accessed using Internet Explorer which is not my favorite browser. About a year ago I switched to using STACK Estimating which is better.

Cloud Takeoff was a great solution in it's day, but I would recommend anyone who's looking for a cloud based takeoff software look at STACK Estimating instead. It has all the best features of Cloud Takeoff and more. I've been using STACK since 2015 and I really like all the new features they've added. A lot of the other takeoff tools come out with new features once a year, but it seems like STACK is constantly making improvements. They put out new updates about every month or so.
