Main advantage of Solid Works that it is very user friendly software. It is very easy to learn which helps you to take idea from marketing and production without making prototypes which are very costly to make. It provides API which allows programming with Visual Basic, C#, C++

Disadvantage of using SolidWorks is that it requires highly configured system such as high level processor, RAM etc. For bigger assemblies SolidWorks becomes slow and unstable. We can only use this on windows Platform. Person who is using this software need to have basic knowledge of Programming skills otherwise it would to very difficult to use.

Overall Experience of using SolidWorks was good as it provide customizable toolboxes, Offers good help system and have very clear structure to use. Initially it was bit difficult to use, when I started to use it regularly, I eventually find it easy to use. I use it for educational applications and research purposes.
