What was the best part about using SlideShare?
The site is generally free to use which is great. I use to utilize SlideShare a lot for market research but have since been using various SAAS to gather business intelligence though it can always be helpful in this regard. It's a very educational site with lots of great content for business or just about anything you would want to learn. I have found some amazing music tutorials which helped me understand certain aspects of the theory and this was free, premium content which I can appreciate. You can check out SlideShare on the go on basically any device in which you have an internet connection whether it's your smartphone, laptop, desktop or tablet so that's cool. The site itself is easy to use though does require some exploring to understand the full capabilities of your account. For example, there is tips and tricks section you will want to check out. Along with lead generation features if you are currently using Hubspot or Marketo. These integrations come built into your account which is cool.
I definitely like that you can download content and check it out later even on their free app. I believe this was the reason I paid to upgrade in the past so you could download if I recall, but it seems not necessary as a paid upgrade nowadays which is awesome. I've just downloaded an amazing digital painting ebook with such detail in its tutorials it is definitely worthy of a paid product. You can actually leverage regular documents, infographics and even video in your presentations which I don't recall being the case when SlideShare was just launched. It's cool to that they have a solid social media integration so it is possible to share your presentations on a few networks very easily. And others presentations too.
What would you change about your experience with SlideShare?
It's cool to have the ability to create multiple clipboards so you can save Slideshares you want to categorically and come back to view them anytime. But if you haven't read their support and the first presentation you decide to clip does not have the clip feature enabled by your choice of the author then you may have to jump around to learn that the author has the choice to make it clippable, or not. I wish there were more integrations available. Hubspot and Marketo are two of the best and biggest but there are more which would be helpful to have included with your inbound lead generation campaigns. And it would be nice to share with an individual and not have to do so publicly each time.
Overall Feedback
Overall this is a useful platform to share highly visual content which is best for particular audiences. If you have clients publishing their content on SlideShare is a great way to gain additional exposure and visibility but it also brands your client as a thought leader and authority in their field. Anyone locally discovering a guide on Slideshare about a local business is most definitely more inclined to trust this company as an authority with an increased likelihood of connecting to the company in my opinion. It's actually quite flexible in terms of the variety of media you can upload to your account which pleasantly surprised me a bit. And the educational component of SlideShare is outstanding with expert content freely available which would definitely cost you otherwise and that's the best feature of them all, in my opinion. I like that SlideShare provides another outlet for sharing content and allows you to do so with infographics, documents, videos and more. It’s a great way to make your content more visual, which is always more appealing to audiences. I’ve recommended SlideShare to clients as a way to generate additional exposure for content such as press releases, articles, and white papers. Since it’s free for individuals to access these materials, it’s a great way to get more people to see the content.
