Skype

As another Estonian I have really only good to say about Skype – after all, it is made by the our own guys from Estonia. It’s the easiest, sleekest way to communicate with people anywhere and the best part is, you don’t have to pay a ton – mostly you can use it for free. I used it when my uncle moved to Spain while we were still in Estonia and as the long-distance calling would have got way too expensive, we decided to use Skype. I also love its messaging feature which is besides Whatsapp the only one I use!

I love Skype thoroughly so don’t get me wrong on this. BUT it does have some flaws. The main thing is that the call quality is not really the best – though recently when I have used Skype calls through my phone the audio quality is decent, then the video quality in desktop version is nothing to brag about ... Also, it’s very slow! I can’t use it with my older laptop at all as it will crash and cause my whole PC to crash as well. In my IBM it works well but I can still feel it consuming way too much RAM of my device.

I’m one of the avid Skype users and I can say it is still my number one video conferencing software. Simply, it’s the easiest choice as absolutely everyone I know use it! As you can log in with both Facebook and Microsoft Account, there’s really no reason NOT to use it. Okay, I agree it has rather lousy video quality and it can crash rather often, but somehow I’m okay with it – it’s just such a loveable software. I can’t see a reason why not to use it and if there’s anyone out there not using it – go and download it asap!
