What was the best part about using Skype?
Other than being able to call and video chat with people throughout the world for free, the best thing is that there are a lot of features that make the software great. Screensharing for example is a feature I really like, it makes explaining certain things much easier, and the screensharing itself is well implemented and works nicely. Being able to use webcams for video chatting is something that is also very well implemented, making the communication easier. Function of quoting something previously said in written chat is amazing and being able to copy the whole message without having to select the whole message is also very useful.
What would you change about your experience with Skype?
Most of the bad things and experiences I have with Skype is due to internet connectivity issues which results in the overall experience being hurt since when my internet gets a little bit slower, I can experience crackling in the voice chat, freezing or loss of quality of facecam and the screenshare, or even the facecam and/or screenshare being completely turned off. Those things are to be expected with any products relying on the internet, but it is still annoying some times. Also, I have recently started having frequent crashes, especially when looking at somebody's screenshare.
Overall Feedback
If you have a good and stable internet connection and want to video chat with someone, or show them something on your screen, I would definitely recommend the Skype to you because it has those features as well as plenty of other features which are very well implemented. And why wuldn't you give it a go, since it is free. Of course, it has paid subscription which is optional, but if you just wanna talk to someone, then the free version is, in my honest opinion, more than enough for you. I know it was for me, at least.
