Shoebooks

There are several things that are really good about ShoeBooks. First, it appears to be really more like a business development platform more than an ERP. It was very easy to implement and has lots of great modules that are created already. And many of these modules are inter- related.

I don’t like the API since the documentation of the API appears unclear to me. And since it is open source, it gives me opportunity to do tweaks here and there every once in a while. However, I am finding it quite difficult to do that since I find lots of information from other sources but most of them aren’t organized.

Shoebooks offers core accounting, fixed assets, billing and invoicing, project accounting, tax functionality and reporting for all size of enterprises. It has a huge capacity for customization along with the modules. I like a lot about this software especially because it is open source which is a neat thing for me.
