Prophix

Prophyx is a corporate management/personnel substitute solution. Prophyx boasts the ability to fulfill the following positions in your venture: Financial Analyst, CFO, and Director of finance, comptroller, and non-financial manager. I like their well-produced demo videos and access to their financial consolidation library. It is obvious that they can appeal to NGO’s needs with their donor tracking/follow-up functions.

Using the software, I couldn’t escape the feeling that Prophix was not “ready for prime time” yet. Functions that I took for granted in other packages in this category were visibly absent. Fact is, a REAL CFO would easily do a yea or nay when presented with a set of numbers.

The cast of users were unimpressive (with the exception of Suzuki and Wyeth). For now, I am not buying it. There are just too many other packages that are more “ready for prime time” than Prophyx. Of course, I am not averse to revisiting Prophyx in the future should a positive Press Release call my attention.
