Prezi

This cloud based presentation software has a focus on global sharing and collaboration features while storing all presentations in a convenient, central dashboard. Prezi is available offline as well to create, edit or give presentations. It's also a very mobile application as you're able to use it on any computer or laptop whether it's Mac or Windows, iPads and iPhones and tablets with touchscreen and adaptive capabilities depending on which device you're using. You can also utilize custom branding and a photo editor with their top two paid plans. Pricing is very low for paid upgrades. And there is a free version available with no limitations but all presentations are kept public. It's easy for individuals to use and begin creating presentations quickly though it would be easy to get entire teams onboard presentation projects with the mobility and sharing functionality included. I like the remote hand-over feature where you can switch presenters easily even if you're not physically in the same room presenting. You can insert all sorts of items such as audio, video, photos or select from Flickr and Google. You can save time compared to Powerpoint because you don't have to create multiple slides for every focus and point you're making. It's possible to highlight elements as well to pan or zoom in on a single slide in order to accomplish the same effect. You can import Powerpoint files though and work with these slides inside Prezi which is an awesome idea. There are a lot of templates available for Prezi online and you can import maps r locations while the app is supported in several countries so it's easy to work together on Prezi presentations around the world. I like the idea of using Prezi for business presentations but it would also be great in schools. I believe students would be much more engaged with these presentations because you can't predict what the next slide will be so it's not an automatically boring learning process.

There's not a lot to dislike about Prezi considering there is a free trial available to try it out yourself. I found it slowed my laptop down considerably. The pages took a bit to load with my current wifi connection which is generally very strong. Better search and filtering functionality would be useful with a lot of presentations in your account. It seems you cannot select fonts or color for presentations based on their backgrounds, and the backgrounds themselves seems limited. And you can't print directly from your account that I can see, although you can download a PDF and print from that. There is a bit of learning curve to using Prezi if you're accustomed to PowerPoint. But it basically operates the same way besides the new features which have to be learned and the fact that it uses a single canvas for multiple slides. There are help and video available to help you make this learning as easy as possible.

Overall, I really like Prezi. It has unique features not available in PowerPoint such as the ability to build your presentation on a single canvas while taking a holistic view of the entire canvas and then pan or zoom into various areas of a single slide in detail. That's much more engaging visually than standard presentations and it looks very professional. With an easy learning curve and reasonable pricing I would definitely recommend it for any individual, business, schools and for any other reason you need a killer presentation.
