Personify Live

Personify Live is a video conferencing and collaboration software which allows you to have in person communication with students, clients, colleagues and sales prospects very easily. I was able to download their software and start a recording within two minutes. I like that you can sign up with your Gmail. It's a small thing but saves a bit of manual entry. But that's just the start of why this is an awesome video system. Personify uses Intel RealSense 3D and Apple Carmine 3D sensor technology to enhance your video. It makes you appear like a television weather person who stands in front of the map and points or draws on it to reference weather patterns and air currents. So essentially it essentially removes your background and replaces it with your presentation or report or proposal while you are in front of it in real time 3D. How cool is that? There are two versions of the software available. A completely free version which you can use to chat with friends, family or colleagues which is outstanding. This would make meeting even more personal than 2D video and text, phone or email of course. Though the paid plan currently at twenty dollars per month allows you to use Personify alongside GoToMeeting. Which has a free plan now too by the way for up to three people which is perfect for sales meetings online. So to give slide deck presentations using Personify is such an amazing idea. It is definitely the next generation sales meetings. I would have to see it seems like a step between conventional 2D video conferencing and virtual reality or augmented reality based sales meetings. Which you kind of have to think is on the horizon as well. In fact, I know it is as I have created a marketing proposal for a virtual reality company using it for real estate so it would seem natural to meet people on a similar platform as this but for virtual reality in the not to distant future. Though meanwhile this is a sick means of presenting your proposals. It would also be amazing for teaching. Personify also works on Skype the desktop version and with Google Hangouts so that's awesome. To appear in 3D on an internet marketing product launch presentation would blow a lot of people's minds and create quite a word of mouth buzz for a product in my opinion. This makes it a lot more fun to present as well because it is intuitive in that you don't have to use your computer or laptop to move along your presentation. You can download their smartphone app and move the slides by moving your finger simply to slide the arrow to the next one. That's a sweet feature.

Though only catch is that you must use a camera with the Intel RealSense or Apple Carmine 3D sensor which typically start at two to three hundred dollars so it is going to be a bit of a process to get things going but it is most definitely worthwhile. I have just done a search with hopes of making a purchase perhaps today to get this going but quickly found that their most recommended camera, or the one they use themselves it states on their website is currently sold out on both Amazon and NewEgg. But that's just a quick search I will continue and see if it is available elsewhere. Though it goes to show the demand for this technology is very real so that's cool because to be honest I had not realized the full potential of this Intel RealSense and Apple Carmine 3D technology quite yet but am very glad to have done so.

There are several cool testimonials on the Personify website about the reactions of people interacting in a classroom through a remote teacher and I can imagine as a student sitting in your desk looking up at the six foot projector screen with the teacher in 3D standing in front of the lesson at hand and I think that would be awesome. And quite engaging. There would feel like there was practically no space between yourself and the teacher even though they very well may be on the other side of the planet. Simply because virtual and augmented reality have not become prevalent in culture yet I can say this is the most interactive, engaging way to communicate using video available currently.
