Panopto

Simplicity of recording and managing videos. After the video is recorded, end-users do not need any plugins or special software to watch videos. Simply an up to date web browser is all that is needed.

An updated and modernized Panopto Recording software would be beneficial. The cloud service works fantastic, but sometimes we find ourselves using other software to create a .mp4 file to upload to Panopto if the Recorder software is not cooperating. Luckily, it's easy to upload the .mp4 file from another source and still gain the benefits of it being stored in the Panopto cloud.

We utilize the Panopto integration with our LMS, Brightspace by D2L. This makes it easy for instructors and students to record, share and watch videos in the online classroom. The solution is simple but there are many advanced features. Captioning, table of contents, easy search and share are some of the examples. Our institution initially bought Panopto for lecture capture, but are now using it for even more use cases. Training videos and meeting recording storage are a few of the solutions.
