Okta is an interesting software as a service in that it offers you a single sign on platform as well as an identity platform in one. And it's based in the cloud so it's very accessible and easy to scale up. The peace of mind made possible by using Okta is the greatest benefit in my opinion. While the return on your investment is assured by it's preventative security capabilities. I like there's a free forever plan which allows you to test this system for developers and it's surprisingly easy to productive to use. The amount of integrations available to sync up in a single click inside your account is nearly thirty five hundred at the time of this review which is outstanding. I've never seen so many integrations available in a click with such a user friendly interface in any software which definitely differentiates it in the cloud. It's a huge time saver in that you don't have to have multiple services for single sign on and identity. Businesses with well established systems considering moving to something more cloud based no longer have the complexity and delays usually associated with implementing or deploying new cloud based applications because most everything you could ever want to integrate is already available inside it already with thousands of integrations available in many different highly useful categories. While they make a point of their openness to suggestion on their website for new integration ideas as well which is great. I like that you can provision or deprovision users based on roles and that you have insight via analytic reporting into behavior of the end user and of your apps with analytics for app and end user available also which is excellent.

The pricing is going to be significant if you've got a large user base with plans ranging from one to four dollars per user, per month. While it does have a tremendous return with it's ease of use and extensibility. I like that it's an on demand service so as long as you're keeping care to track and update the minimum number of users you need as it changes the investment is in your control more so than alternative payment models which are possible. And in this case I believe you get what you pay for in that it's a small price to be for such security, configuration possibilities, single access to all your company infrastructure and the ability to connect with clients with much more trust intact as well.

The increase in productivity in IT departments is going to be considerable if you begin using Okta. For larger companies it's almost a no brainer in that it's all updated and maintained for you, the uptime is excellent, the security is world class and the software platform is easy to use. The return on investment is going to be excellent for high level companies who can build trust quicker with clients when logging in through a secured single sign on portal. It adds professionalism beyond the practical security and massive extensibility that are at it's core as a service.
