What was the best part about using Microsoft PowerPoint?

Microsoft Powerpoint is a slide presentation editor available as a standalone paid subscription or as part of the Microsoft Office 365 subscription which includes a suite of other tools. Powerpoint is quite easy to learn and simple to use. There is a lot of information available but it all makes sense in terms of layout and practicality. There are lots of resources available from Microsoft and third party such as Youtube where you can learn how to use the software. I`ve used Powerpoint to create many slide presentations mostly for clients or as part of marketing and business plans. There are several features which I use to make it very efficient to make it easier such as the ability to switch up slide positions, zoom in on slides and auto-extending presentations to a second monitor to use a prompter. I`ve paid for powerpoint templates which suited a certain client branding but I`ve also used templates which are freely available through Microsoft and many third parties online. Powerpoint has come a long way in terms of design and ease of use. A few years ago it wasn`t as intuitive and with functionality clearly laid out like it is now. I like the presenter view will adapt to your projector setup automatically. I`ve not had to use this feature yet as I`ve had the same setup for many years already, but that`s incredibly helpful. I can remember the first presentation I gave it was a staff meeting and I couldn`t get the projector to work with my laptop at the time. I was able to resolve this just in time but nowadays to have online help sync things up would save some stress for sure. I like that Powerpoint is usable on smartphones and tablets so you can just swipe the screen or tap it to move through presentations. You can utilize templates available for free as I`ve mentioned but now they come with variations. I can remember wanting this feature to help a slide deck I was creating more interesting. And it`s easier then ever to share your presentations too whether it be internally or with prospect or clients. New Microsoft PowerPoint is cleaner and primed for use on tablets and phones, so you can swipe and tap your way through presentations. Presenter View automatically adapts to your projection set-up, and you can even use it on a single monitor. Themes now come with variations, which make it simpler to hone in on the look you want. And when you’re working with others, you can add comments to ask questions and get feedback. I love that you can now record right on the slides and time it to play on cue. With a lot of effects possible in the latest version available too. This software is versatile in that you can create simple or dynamic presentations for use individually, for business, in education and in a multitude of other ways. There are tons of customization options for your account and your presentations. It`s useful for visual or financial presentations with a large variety of charts and graphs possible to create easily as well.

What would you change about your experience with Microsoft PowerPoint?

Real times editing updates would be a cool collaboration feature for those with deadlines to meet working in a remote team. I didn`t see it yet in the new feature set. There is a learning curve for PowerPoint because there are a lot of options to consider but all of the possible tasks are all simple to learn. And it does take some time to design especially if you`re particular with your eye for detail.

Overall Feedback

There is a free slide creation option called OpenOffice. And it`s a solid option but the formatting last time I used it does not carry over to Microsoft document well when you `save as` a Microsoft file and then open it in the corresponding Microsoft application such as word, excel and powerpoint. And I almost always had to convert them anyways because the end user would more than likely be able to open a Microsoft file much quicker. So overall the value of Powerpoint is well worthy the price. As I like the cloud sync between their products and happily pay about ten bucks per month for use of all tools in the Office 365 suite because I always receive more value than I am paying for.
