Microsoft OneDrive for Business

Microsoft OneDrive for Business is their paid upgrade from basic OneDrive cloud based online file storage. It's got a lot of more versatility in terms of being able to sync your files to multiple devices so you can start on one such as your laptop and later that day use your tablet to continue where you left off. It's great that the industry standard seems to be fifteen gigabytes of free storage which Microsoft grants you as well with their free accounts. The paid upgrades include more storage at quite reasonable prices. It's currently $1.99 for 100 GB, $3.99 for 200 GB and $ 6.99 for one thousand gigabytes, otherwise called a terabyte. I'm an Office 365 paid subscriber for their home plan and I'm considering my options with their upgraded plans currently. I like the integration with Microsoft Access into OneDrive it's a great program for databases. Learning them in particular with its relatively user friendly interface and option selection which make to make it much easier. Having this integration will definitely help make using it more efficient. The collaborative features of OneDrive for Business are very good. You can integrate Skype right inside your Microsoft account which also contains all of their other Office 365 products. You can also invite others to your OneDrive account files and allow different permissions or just give someone a shareable link which they provide which is great. You can also use your other tools right from your dashboard so it makes it so easy to use Word or PowerPoint which I do almost daily and these documents are automatically saved to my OneDrive folder which is outstanding. I'm always able to find work much more streamlined in a good work flow using Microsoft tools. The user interface for all of their products is excellent across the board. I find them really easy to use and once you use one Microsoft software it becomes very easy to use them all.

Everything about OneDrive is awesome for cloud storage and I'm thankful to have a secondary storage solution. The functionality is very good and fast loading. There is nothing to really dislike about Microsoft OneDrive for business in my opinion with the exception of the pricing which is a bit above average compared to Google Cloud Storage or Amazon S3 currently. And it's not really an issue until you have several thousand gigabytes of content in your online storage account and it costs you on quite a lot more per month as the storage isn't based on exactly how you much you need. Google Cloud and Amazon S3 scale so you pay only for exactly what you're storing which is a great way for your business processes to stay efficient and cost effective. Which is a key difference between Microsoft OneDrive and Google or Amazon though I believe their custom quote may be for this purpose. If you have a need for more than one thousand gigabytes of digital storage you're to call them for a quote. It's more like Box or Dropbox in terms of pricing model until this point.

I've thought a lot about how much the cloud has affected our lives in a positive way and Microsoft has really adopted this technology in a great way. I recall just a few years ago when all of the excitement for the cloud was new and people were projecting how easy it would be to use their software from any device. And it's just been a couple years since Office 365 was launched as well as others such as Adobe Creative Cloud both of which I'm a subscriber. The month cloud based access to Word, PowerPoint and Photoshop latest versions is the greatest benefit of technology to my life certainly over the last couple years. I think virtual and augmented reality technology may take the new crown but the cloud access to these programs has made my dreams come true and OneDrive has a played a significant part.
