Microsoft Access

Microsoft Access is a cool software as a service which allows you to utilize database functionality to create apps which can speed up your manipulation and management of data. There are lots of recommendations for you once writing data which makes it very easy along with drop down menus so overall it's much easier out of the box to use than typical database functionality. If you're new to database software it's a great way to take a minimal curve while learning the fundamental aspects using a direct approach. That makes it a very valuable tool though it's very robust and would take you a long time to truly master all of its functionality and potential usage. I like that you have so much displayed which is relevant on a single screen while you can multitask without having to change screens. Databases, tables, and spreadsheets are at the core of almost any business on some level. By getting know how they work you're getting ahead in terms of data discovery and it's potential use in analytics for marketing, sales, human capital management or any department at all. This database management system integrates a myriad of ways that are very common in most of the software we use every day to get things done. I like Microsoft Access for the level of education it facilitates for those of us working our way towards fully configurable software. The user interface is relatively easy to understand and begin using for groups and individuals who aren't particularly technical. Your time investment is significantly less because of the drag and drop functionality and graphical interface. There's also various scripting capabilities possible in Access which is good. And you can manage it all very easily if you're familiar with SQL. One of the greatest things about using Microsoft tools is the that your community is huge so you can always check on anything you need to know any usually find the guide or expert to get things done which is terrific. I like that you can approach such a friendly, willing group of like minded people with experience it greatly speeds up your learning curve. I like the reporting capabilities with Access as you're able to create reports manually relatively quick and easy but you can utilize macros which are always a great way to speed up your process exponentially so this combination is especially powerful. It greatly enhances your productivity and streamlines your efficiency especially when you're doing the same tasks every day. Doing four, five or more tasks at once with the click of a button is a huge time saver.

The terminology of Microsoft Access is slightly different than other database software's I've noticed as my research lately has had me test several and in that there is a learning curve which isn't as efficient as picking up regular SQL if you're used to it. On the other hand, this software makes it harder to achieve the full functionality and configuration possible in other more complex software so there is a difference in the depth between it and MySQL or Microsoft SQL Server, for example.

Overall, considering how easy it is to get started with Microsoft tools and designed for smaller applications and helps to minimize the learning curve involved it's great. It's not the most advanced system in terms of scaling data sets, but it's allowed me to learn more than ever did regarding databases for certain. There is most definitely a learning curve involved and it's not like you can pick it up and expect to do much more than the basics quickly but it's laid out in a way that facilitates exploration and intuitive problem solving process while using it. It's a nice option to know about considering the complexity otherwise. I'm comfortable using MySQL on a basic level but I'm more comfortable learning the next step with Access if you're in a similar position I recommend it.
