The best thing about Mention is the reach it has. It monitors billions of sources in real time so they say. But compared to other monitoring tools I've tried recently in my research this one easily has the most reach. Unlike different monitoring tools this one gives the most peace of mind because you know if it's mentioned online about your brand or keyword selection you'll know about it quickly enough to respond or be proactive to engage a person or certain situation which is awesome. I was thinking when I tried other shouldn't it be possible to enhance your search capacities beyond Facebook, or just the social media accounts you integrate with? It's a big wide world web out there so I felt that this critical element wasn't greatly lacking because not all activity occurs just on social media website. There are tons of niche forums and other websites besides. I like the ability to track and engage brand advocates and influencers. In fact, Mention points them out to you so it does this analysis of the most likely to influence in your niche and prioritizes these responses for you which are great. The user interface couldn't be setup any better. It's very clean and straightforward. Super easy to learn and beginning using immediately. Mention is extremely internationally supported as well with support in over forty languages which is outstanding to know and smart as heck to do by their company making it an authority in their industry. Running this software you don't have to have anyone monitoring manually so there are significant savings. You can streamline the social media marketing or customer service department with the amount of staff that you need to be proactive and reach out to influencers or respond to feedback and help pre-empt negative reviews being minimized. For large businesses with an active following online this software is a dream come true. While Google Alerts are for the news you're getting real time info from Mention from all social networks, blogs, forums and niche websites too. There's a reporting and analytics tab so you can analyze your data which you can export as well. You're able to collaborate with your team to an extent too with the task and activity tabs. And also utilize something the call sentiment analysis which I think is brilliant. They've gathered data like words and phrases and categorized them for positive and negative connotation to give you an idea of what each mention is about before you check it out.

It does what it says it does and nothing more it's not a full blown social marketing tool and sales tool but with more channel to communicate within their software it could become a real powerful tool for sales potentially. It's limited in the sense that with all of the ability to reach out to monitor and track it's only able to respond from within the dashboard on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Buffer but not any other sources currently.

The pricing is extremely low for the value you receive. At $29 for up to three alerts and three thousand mentions most businesses would be covered with this plan. But even their top premium paid plan is under a thousand dollars per month which to me is still great value for big brands. It's saving you thousands of dollars on hours which no longer need to be on the payroll because customer support outreach team is streamlined now without having to invest in hiring to do this external search for mentions manually. I'd like to see the ability to respond directly from the Mention dashboard to more sources but perhaps that's in the development plan.
