McGraw-Hill's smart book feature while unnecessary is an interesting concept for developing the needed understandings of definitions. In addition the program is user friendly and easy to use.

McGraw-Hill spends most of the time prepping students' understanding of definitions and better grasping ideas in managerial accounting. The problem is that it rarely addresses the technical aspects of managerial accounting which is ultimately the meat of the course (accounts for 90+% of questions on exams). While technical questions appear in weekly assignments the program fails to prepare students for how to answer them and it offers no resources for how to answer technical questions. This is a major flaw that separates McGraw-Hill from its competitors whom offer technical accounting questions as prep and offer resources for solving technical questions in assignments.

Ultimately McGraw-Hill's managerial accounting program fails to help students understand the technical portions of the course. It is an inferior product and future managerial students should hope their professor's choose one of McGraw-Hill's competitors.
