My fiancé and I have been trying to work with Mr. Kaplan for 5 years now and we are extremely dissatisfied. Whenever she calls to talk to him he keeps telling her that he will not talk if she is upset. The issues are, He keeps making decisions on her case without discussing them with her. We have to call him every time the insurance company changes something in her case. There is NO contact from him at all! Except when the insurance company was going to give her a loan against her settlement so we can get a reliable car to get her back and forth from doctor appointments and cost for a dentist. He blocked this from happening. We have to pay for traveling expenses. By Mr. Kaplan not doing his job he has put us in a very bad spot we are almost homeless, owe all of our family member’s money, and have no health insurance. Also he talks down to you if you finally get him on the phone he treats you like you’re the one working for him. You must be very cautious working with him because he will refer other people and get a percentage of the other cases. He flipped out on us when we had our financial advisor call. Mr. Kaplan made sure that if my fiancé passes they get the balance of the settlement. We have spoken to other attorneys and they do not understand why the case is not settled including law firms that know Mr. Kaplan (Corradino and Papa, LLC). We have recorded conversations and documentations and we are to the point of reporting him to Office of Attorney Ethics.
