JourneyX is being considered as a time tracking tool for my small business. I really appreciate the free version for less than ten users which you can download and install so this drew me to check out this software in depth. It appears to exactly what I'd like and that's to track my hours as a freelance contractor from my laptop in addition to not the freelancing service tracking I use online. This software does a lot more than time tracking though it's got a host of other features including project and expense tracking, cost accounting and forecasting of resources and revenues, measurement of work profitability, employee payroll and transactional invoicing so it's a very comprehensive suite of tools. But I was only interested in the time tracking component. It touts the ability to save money and reduce costs which are why you should consider this type of service. No more printing or printing costs, no more printer maintenance, and no more wasted time when you can log everything from you laptop or your mobile device. You can set up data validation which increases the accuracy of your time tracking. As well as memorized entries which I understand helps do this as well but I'm still how to apply this feature. You are able to document the work you've done besides the time it took by adding this information and detail to your time entry.

I don't find this software to be user friendly. It assumes a certain level of expertise in the field and doesn't make it easy to understand how to create your best workflow. Setting up new users is no problem. I was just hoping to use this software myself so it's not even necessary because this is setup with my installation. When I select Help for this page from the menu in the software it redirects to a 404 error which basically stops in my tracks. The installation felt serious. Like it was using a run command display to inform me of the steps it was taking to alter my configuration and their database and it took a computer restart to complete the installation which took about fifteen to twenty minutes in total just to get to setup your account and sync it to the software online which just seemed like a bit much. The user interface is really outdated and needs a huge upgrade. I found myself squinting or moving close to the screen to read the menus. There is so much functionality in your account which is great but most of you wouldn't use in my situation but modules don't seem customizable beyond the initial installation which offered me the choice to install major components, or not. I did my best when selecting them but there was some ambiguity, or I simply hadn't become familiar enough with the packages, but either way thanks for the value but I have no idea what to do with it and don't seem to be able to turn any of it off in my account. Unless it's there and I'm not seeing it.

There's too much that prevents me from utilizing the full functionality of this software. I truly appreciate that it's free for teams less than ten and feel bad complaining about anything in that sense. But as much as I want to like this software I found it non-intuitive and clunky from the installation onward and just can't dedicate the time I'd like to learning how to fully configure and implement it into my daily routine.
