JIRA

As a software tester, I am happy with JIRA. we have adobted JIRA in our organization as a replacement of HP Quality Center. HP Quality Center is too expensive for us despite of too many functionality. We could not afford it license cost. So we need a tool that is cheap but fulfill our requirements. JIRA was a best replacement. It's great defect management tool with so much flexibility. We can schedule project tasks using JIRA, So it is a perfect tool for Project Management.

Despite of low cost as compared to HP QC, it is a complex tool with too many different functions. So usage wise it is not easy to use. You need extensive training in order to use this tool. Bug tracking is excellent. It also made task assignment easy for managers. You can achieve defect life cycle using JIRA easily.

Excellent bug tracking tool for both testers and developers. Version Control is also one of the core functionality of JIRA. You can use JIRA for every Software methodology. It works perfectly for Agile and Waterfall. Due to flexibility and cost, I rate JIRA among others at higher ranks. So I am satisfy to replace this tool with HP QC.
