It depends on limited or low bandwidth means. We try to use as little bandwidth as possible (by compressing data traffic between our zero footprint agent and the discovery server). However, the discovered information must be transported somehow from the discovered device to the discovery server.
The bandwidth consumption can be adjusted by setting the number of devices which are being scanned in parallel. The more devices you scan in parallel, the more network bandwidth you use.
As a guideline, we require ~5MB discovery traffic for a typical Windows computer spread over a duration of ~4-10 minutes.
We always encourage people to try the software and check whether they fit their requirements. Download the trial from our software and install it within just a few minutes.
Is use of JDisc Discovery suitable for a user with limited or low bandwidth?
