Internet Explorer

This popular internet browser that's been around to use for free on Windows products for a long time. If you haven't used the latest version it's quite a bit faster and more user friendly than it was a few years ago. When you think about it there was a period of several years not to long ago when Microsoft products were seen as inferior to Mac by almost all accounts. But those times are long gone now as Microsoft has improved so many aspects of their hardware and software products and that includes Internet Explorer. Though it has been relegated as a legacy product now as Windows 10 is released and with it their new browser called Edge which they are calling faster performance and better features. It's interesting to that when I loaded Internet Explorer a few minutes ago for the first time in a few weeks it loaded in less than a second and that's not an exaggeration at all. To me this shows how far this company has come with it's development and will certainly be giving the Edge browser a better look if it's truly even faster and better. One feature in particular in Internet Explorer that is awesome is the menu centered at the top of the browser Home page is the links to it's other products which all integrate natively into Internet Explorer including OneNote which is a serious favorite of mine as a writing and research tool. The quick note function in OneNote enables you to take snippets of anything online and curate this content into OneNote with all of the sources intact but being able to do so literally from the Internet Explorer page too is very cool. It also links directly to Facebook and Twitter. I think the Skype acquisition by Microsoft is brilliant. Skype opens up directly from within the Internet Explorer browser as well which is terrific. When you think about it Microsoft communication and business tools rival Google now in terms of accessibility and ease of use and that's really saying something considering their reputation just a few years ago. They've come a long way. The Office tools can also be synced inside the browser too. I use Excel and Word usually seven days per week so that's if that can speed up my workflow even more I have to consider it.

Compatibility of software with older versions of Internet Explorer is a real issue. And there's not a whole lot Microsoft can do about it but alert people to update their own browser to the latest version as browser updates must occur on the user end device. But people who aren't particularly internet savvy or perhaps just forget to update it that can cause themselves a lot of issues in my experience when trying to use Skype with an older IE version. Or having issues using a trial of an online software as a service and wondering why it doesn't seem to work well at all. Or why your recently developed new website looks off there's a good chance it's because their Internet Explorer is an older version.

I didn't realize how much native integration there was in the most recent version of Internet Explorer. It really makes the browser so much more powerful than it was a few years ago including Skype, OneNote and Office products integrated directly from the Home page. I use all of these tools every day and have to consider using the browser for this reason and the fact it loads web pages very fast. I am actually very surprised at how well Internet Explorer works on this Dell Latitude E6410 laptop running Windows 10. I've just started using this new laptop a few months ago and this is the first I've used Internet Explorer because Windows 10 has their Edge browser so I'm happy to learn of IE compatibility. And curious to learn how and why they claim the Microsoft Edge internet browser is even better.
