Intacct

I like Intacct as a financial management and accounting software meant for it's flexibility and overall ease of use. Its seems intuitive considering there is a vast amount of important information in the account. Everything is quite well laid out and I was aware of all basic functionality within minutes of entering my account even though it would take entire teams a significant investment if switching from paper to digital accounting, or from another financial software. The ability to customize workflows in great detail, and adapt approvals over time is really solid. There are a multitude of roles, dashboards and corresponding reports available for all levels in a mid-size company. And the tool set is comprehensive including accounting, financial reports and consolidation, vendor manager, inventory management, revenue and contract management. The company's reputation is bolstered by some of the companies currently using Intacct such as Indeed, Auction.com, GrubHub and it's not an inexpensive software. I believe this software would cover then needs of both corporations and non-profit organizations. The level of detail and transparency possible in all aspects of the software would be a great benefit to maintained streamlined audits. There is a lot of flexibility in the software and customization possible. Likely required when onboarding larger companies. It would be a worthy pursuit as you could save a lot of time, money and energy over the long term by doing so compared to using old manual and human error filled processes. The reports are outstanding with a lot of insight possible from so many perspectives. I like the increased visibility into multiple components into one centralized dashboard such as reimbursements, audits, approvals and submissions which can take place easily. While Intacct integrating with third party software is possible too. The ability to get real time information in customized ways across multi-entities is helpful. Integrations with Tallie and SalesForce are both strong options to have when considering Intacct. With Intacct you would have a much clearer understanding of the overall financial and accounting performance in the company. The ability to perform consolidations anytime and view financial statements in such great detail is surprisingly easy and intuitive using Intacct.

The reporting functionality is really detailed. There is so much to be customized that it may seem overwhelming, or that you're leaving something on the table by not utilizing all it's functionality. It would take substantial training to understand the potential for reporting. If you were in the retail industry for example, and some store managers were not accounting or finance majors in college or University there would be a lot of training involved to utilize this software at this level for tracking inventory, for example. Though with the right training and practice specific limited roles in the software could be learned relatively quickly.

Paying for implementation of the software by Intacct itself I feel would be the smartest choice. It would be costly but can only imagine it would also help speed up getting to the actual business at hand. The price for Intacct is substantial and this will not be a valid choice for freelancers or small businesses. Intacct is an incredibly comprehensive software providing secured, seamless access to many accounting and financial based processes. With the ability the bring together multiple entities so seamlessly, and the fact it is based in the cloud Intacct really is a serious choice to consider in the search for accounting and financially software for mid-size businesses.
