What was the best part about using Highrise?

HighRise is a customer relationship management software as a service available with various plans including a free forever plan which is fully functional with up to two hundred and fifty contacts, but no file storage at all. A solo plan is $29 USD with a few gigabytes of storage available with twenty thousand contacts and unlimited deals. Team plans start at $24 USD per month for up to six users and work their way upwards to $149 per month with the only difference being your allowed to have up to fifty thousand contacts with seventy five gigabytes of storage. The integrations are excellent for HighRise. There are probably hundreds available. Actually there definitely are considering you can integrate Zapier which has five hundred integrations itself. There are extensions for sales and marketing, business productivity, mobile and customer support integrations available. The user interface is very easy to learn and begin using immediately.

What would you change about your experience with Highrise?

To be honest out of nearly twenty five CRM's I've personally researched and experienced directly in the last two months this one is on the lower end in terms of features and overall value offered for the price of the core functionality. It's really limited in what it does just on it's own compared to Pipeliner CRM for example. HubSpot CRM is free and has much better features than this customer relationship software features on it's own. Though I understand their business model, I believe. It's all about the marketplace extensibility which allows you to add value to your core features while allowing the company to leverage partnerships to manage the complex extensions on their behalf while gaining visibility through association and referral. And they are all about associating popular users such as the author of the '4 Hour Work Week' to draw attention HighRise, although he doesn't say why he uses it other than that it was obvious to him. Perhaps that means he was obviously paid off to say that, perhaps, because I am not certain this guy would vouch for HighRise if he had full knowledge of what's possible in the core CRM functionality of some other options. But that said the integrations are great and you can setup a much more comprehensive system through third party integrations but this may add several more monthly recurring payments to your HighRise investment which nullifies the savings with multiple users pretty much. HighRise is kind of like the poor man's SalesForce because it too is quite simple on it's own, but there are so many businesses which only exist to make SalesForce better and these costs add up very quickly because very few or none are going to be free. The same with HighRise but you're getting more users in your base monthly fee. The Deals tab seems pretty limited in terms of moving your prospect through a sales pipeline. It's not visual and the only search functions are alphabetically and by date. There is no drag and drop technology which I prefer in a CRM deal or opportunity pipeline. The reporting analytics seem non-existent in the core software.

Overall Feedback

HighRise seems like a good starter CRM for very small businesses because it is very simple to use and doesn't have a lot of bells and whistles. And you could add integrations over time to help absorb the cost of more recurring fees per month. Helping balance the investment process perhaps and the checkbook. But then again you might as well consider other options such as Pipeliner CRM if you want much more value in the core of your account for about the same price, or HubSpot CRM if you don't want to pay as a small business or place your cash flow into other services such as marketing or PPC ads, or ActiveDemand where you get an entire marketing platform for seven bucks per month. I love BaseCamp 3 by the same company it is one of my favorite project management softwares and is night and day in terms of it nowadays versus a few years ago. But HighRise to me is not nearly as unique in the market in my opinion. Though I am sure it serves some people well I prefer more performance in a factory model and options for integrations.
