Google Hangouts

It just felt cool that it's like another Buzz way back when everyone used Buzz and all. It has good quality video calls, and works like it needs to. It's with Google, and works well alongside many of its Google counterpart aspects. Easy access easy to find on Google Chrome.

Thing is, it's trying to compete with Skype. This is both a good and bad thing and could literally go both ways. Video calling quality is good, only if there is a strong internet connection. I feel that many times Google Hangouts is either all or nothing meaning either it works or it doesn't. Also, there needs to be a significant improvement on the design. I know Google is trying to make it simplified and easy to use, but a lot of the time, I'm barely in my 20's, and I can't decipher the meaning of one icon with another.

Overall it's a decent software. Nothing too fancy and elaborate. It gets the job done, and could use some improvement on the user-friendly part. Other than that, it's a part of a system that is designed for compatibility. That's the good part that Google is striving for. I would recommend it to anyone who is looking to do interviews or anything of the sort where the call isn't too long. Relies heavily on the internet's connection. Overall it's an alright product.
