Gliffy

Gliffy is an online software based image maker where you can produce mind maps, diagrams, technical drawings, floor plans and flow charts. I like Gliffy a lot for creating mind maps which is the first use which came to mind as I have been testing these softwares to find the best one. Gliffy is free to sign up without a credit card but there are limitations to the free account such as the inability to export image files. Paid plans begin at $3.99 per month per user which unlocks access to all premium features. This software would be useful for any size business including freelancer, small, midsize, enterprise, non-profit and public administration. It's supports Mac and Windows devices. And has support available in the United States, United Kingdom, Europe, Canada and Australia. Customer support is by email only, but there are FAQ's available as well as a forum. Gliffy has an open API available to extend usage to other software applications. It currently integrates with Wordpress, Atlassian Confluence & JIRA software. Gliffy is incredibly intuitive to use. It's easy to create complex diagrams such as flowcharts, technical plans, floorplans, wireframes, user flows and sales funnel charts instantly and the range of symbols and shapes provided is very useful. I love being able to snap line to points on objects so easily. This is often not the case in other similar software I've tried. It's possible to import SVG and JPG files with your own designs to work around. Exporting to SVG, JPG, PNG and Gxml. Their helpful integrations avilable for Gliffy including: Google Drive, Google Docs and Google Chrome, MS Word and Confluence. The pricing is very fair at about $4 per month, even if you were to need it only for a couple of hours.

The Free version will make your creations public after fifteen days. You can't have smaller text than 9px. This software won't replace more complex industry software such as OmniGraffle or Viseo. And won't replace an architecture tool like Autocad either. Some integrations are paid upgrades. The collaboration tools do not seem to be available with the free version. It would be nice to export to PDF as well. Being able to search shapes would be a nice feature to have.

With a free version available there is no reason not to give Gliffy a try. I believe you'll find it very useful to create diagrams easily. I would find enough value to upgrade to the paid version and may do so, once my research is completed in this niche. So far, Gliffy is the best value and the easiest to use for the complex mind maps I want to create.
