Passwords are securely encrypted and stored on the user's computer. These credentials are encrypted using military-grade AES-256 encryption using the AesCryptoServiceProvider class that is part of Windows SDK and is FIPS compliant. AES is specified in (FIPS 197) and approved in (SP 800-131A Rev. 1) for key lengths of 128, 192, and 256 bits. Passwords are never transmitted over the air and therefore not prone to spoof attacks.
