FileMaker Pro is relatively easy to use data management tool to use to create custom apps for both Windows and Mac. This company has been around for a long time so they've been developing this tool so it's quite well defined in terms ease of use and overall value. Relatively speaking. It strikes a good balance between building your interface and organizing your data. The best reasons to use it are to greatly increase your productivity while saving financially when having to synthesize large amounts of data into usable business intelligence. It's highly customizable with a robust core feature set which is great. The UI is comprehensive with detailed control and functionality. The ability to reuse your scripts is a powerful feature that greatly improves your productivity.

It's going to be much easier for you if you have experience with databases and their terminology. If not, there is a learning curve involved for sure. Although you could easily hire someone to help speed up the learning involved as well. Or to just do it all for you. More shortcuts would be helpful to help make your design more efficient. And there's no dedicated Android app available as of yet. The fact that you have to do so much in order to manipulate your data to me seems like last generation technology to me. I'm not an expert but am doing research to learn what's possible for database manipulation and analytics. But seeing services like Import.io and Chart.io nowadays allowing you to do so much without knowing a line of code makes me think that while you may find a job doing things this way, it would knock the socks off some businesses to learn how Chart.io does what FileMaker does as far as I understand it, and a ridiculous amount more, ninety nine percent easier. Certain developer tools such as script debugging, import and exporting scripts, and versioning are essential but only available with higher packages. I find this type of pricing to be limiting in that it excludes core value for customers and forces upgrades. In my opinion, there a more inclusive business model is only going to benefit your customer and your brand so why not help your customers the best possible way with the most value, in order to differentiate your business from your competition. I'm researching a lot of software recently and am always pleased when all essential, core features are included with the basic paid plans. Though may vary otherwise with their upgraded paid plans in terms of scaling up and dedicated support.

I would recommend training via the FileMaker training available which is very good. Their are additional tutorials available online as well from Lynda.com for example. But the best idea is to have a serious database expert looking over your shoulder or simply taking care of this database creating, training and support for you. If you're business has been using spreadsheets this system can improve your overall efficiency as well as a cost savings. I came across this service in during my research of business management and intelligence tools and I believe it is very possible to have a good return on investment by using it. I've used databases for many years but consider myself an intermediate at best, which makes me wonder how experts and long time users of FileMaker would react to learning about Chart.IO. It appears to everything I've learned FileMaker does without having to build the app, while allowing you to combine your spreadsheets with Google Analytics, or MySQL or SalesForce data and many other sources to create a whole new way to organize and gain insight into your data.
